It has been a week of all three. Jaeger has had accidents in his crate every single night. He'd actually been pretty good lately so I was surprised and disappointed when my husband had to bathe him and clean up crate in the middle of the night (by the middle of the night, I mean at 3 in the morning). My husband deserves a big thanks for bearing the burden of caring for the babies this week since I've been especially busy at work.
Then on Wednesday, Jaeger had an upset tummy which resulted in something starting with d. No way am I going to say that word (it's actually amazing that I'll say the p words - I've made progress). As a result, Jaegy had d-stuff all over himself and the crate (and later all over the patio). Ugh!
Then, as I was about to bathe Jaeger Wednesday evening, I looked up to see Izzy's face in a bowl of food I had left on the couch (no comments about the idiocy of leaving food on a couch with two dogs). As I screamed for her to stop (so I didn't have a second dog with d), Jaegy peed on the floor. When Izzy looked up, she had food all over her face! So I cleaned up the pee, cleaned the food off of the couch, bathed Jaeger, bathed Izzy, and then cleaned Jaeger's crate. What a night!
Then within about four hours, Jaegy had d in his crate again (at around 2 in the morning). (Luckily, Izzy was doing okay.) Three hours later, Jaeger had vomited in his crate. I had the joy of cleaning up the vomit (which was super chunky and oh so gross at 5 in the morning, or at any time).
Somehow, all of these events have made me love Jaeger more. I guess because instead of seeing him as a vicious puppy on the prowl to hurt and maim Izzy, I see him as a helpless little puppy totally dependent on us to take care of him.
And, in fact, I am now freaking out that he could really be sick. Cross your fingers that I am being paranoid (as usual) and that he's on the mend (and that we don't have accidents tonight :)
