Izzy's Chariot, At Long Last

Izzy is not much of a walker. Indeed, after a whole block or so, she often starts jumping on one of our legs as if to say, "Pick me up! Pick up me!"

She also does not like to walk on the ground when it's wet or soggy.

In other words, she can be a little princess.

So my husband decided to buy a stroller for Izzy. It's not just a stroller. It's a jogging stroller! So no more excuse of "We can't go running, poor little Izzy would be left behind!" (And hopefully no more just staying home, stuffing our faces and watching mindless tv instead.)

Anyway, when it arrived at my husband's work, people gave him grief. A stroller for a dog??? Just leave the dog home! That's easier said than done, especially when you love the dog SOO much and have already left the poor thing home alone for twelve or more hours. It makes it worse if we take Jaeger on the run with us - I mean, everyone but her gets to go for a fun run?

Anyway, my husband spent Friday night (yeah, we are that cool and exciting) putting the stroller together. It looks totally awesome and Izzy immediately jumped into it. She loves it!

So this Saturday morning, we put on our Vibram five finger shoes (check them out: http://www.vibramfivefingers.com) and headed out for a run with Izzy and Jaeger. Izzy was immediately at home in her stroller, except to her, I think it was her chariot, at long last. She literally had this attitude of "This is what I'm talking about and what I have needed and deserved my whole life!"

Anyway, it was pretty awesome for us, too. My husband had Jaeger trotting beside him on his leash and I was pushing little Izzy in her jogging stroller. We love to do things as a family and now we can run as a family.

After we got home, we took Izzy out of the stroller to see if she had to go to the bathroom, but she had no interest in doing that, instead she immediately tried to jump back into her "chariot"... Looks like we'll have to go running again!
