Sunny Saturday in Frankfurt at Holzhausenpark

We had gorgeous weather on Saturday, which also happened to be my husband and my wedding anniversary.  Unfortunately, he had to work all day long, so the boys and I headed to the closest park.  The Holzhausenpark is literally a five minute walk from our home and is very neat.  It was originally owned by an affluent family hundreds of years ago.  In the 1700s, the family built a "castle" in it, which is still there today.  It is currently a favorite park, especially for families with children.

This trip was not just our first trip to this park, but to any park.  I learned two things:  I need an awesome park/picnic blanket that is very large and water resistant (if the ground is slightly damp);  I should come armed with wipes and a wash cloth (to clean off the toys that get dirt and mud on them);  and, boys are never too young to love to play in the mud.
