In addition to having lost my son's shoe twice - once at the park (where I let him play barefoot in the wet grass) and once on the way home from the pediatrician (where I unknowingly carried him home barefoot in cold weather), I showed up to buy him new shoes with ....
A barefoot. Understandably (perhaps), he was missing a shoe - hence, we were there to buy new shoes. But it was a little embarrassing when the sales lady informed us that Will was missing his sock and was barefoot (again).
Is it any wonder that people think I am some poor foreigner using my two baby boys to panhandle in their nice country?
(We never found the sock. I should note that my children rarely have socks on. They seem to go missing. In fairness, I often don't have on socks either for the same reason. I need to buy them more socks.)
