A Day in Strasbourg, France

Earlier this week, my sister-in-law, cousin-in-law, and I took the train to Strasbourg, France with the boys.  This time, we took only a single stroller and two baby carriers so it would be easier to get around the train stations.  While it was definitely easier to get around the train station, it was overall harder on us, and I think the boys sleep more when in their stroller (but not the single stroller we brought).  Anyway, it was a good, but hard, day.

Strasbourg is very pretty and definitely a blend of Germany and France, but still more France.  Our must-do list was short (as it needs to be with the boys): the Strasbourg Cathedral, Petite France, and a boat cruise.

But before we did anything, we stopped for Nutella Crepes (I mean, to feed the babies, or maybe both).  After all, we were in France!  But we did eat the crepes in front of the Cathedral.

The Cathedral, built between 1176 - 1439, is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture.  It is an amazingly intricate building.  When you really study the building, the details are endless.   Anyway, I am really glad that we had the opportunity to see it.

We then ventured to Petite France, which was really cute, and had lunch.   While at lunch, Will caught up on his news.

We made a quick trip to a French park to change diapers and to give the boys some time to play.  They had a lot of fun.  They loved the playground equipment and Jack met a French girl with pretty curls.

After lunch, we took a boat trip.  I missed most of it due to the boys deciding they were not in the mood for much of anything.  What I caught was strange - weird murders, torture, etc.

Then there was the train ride home... Will slept.  Jack did not.  It was brutal.

Anyway, my sister-in-law and cousin-in-law are off to Paris today.  It's my sister-in-law's third trip to Paris this year but she keeps missing Notre Dame.  And it's my cousin-in-law's first trip to Paris.  I offered to let them take the boys, but they didn't seem too interested.   Anyway, I am so excited for them and cannot wait to hear about their trip.
